What inspires me ?
It is the desire of my mind to get into the golden world of language which inspires me.
June 24th, 2002. This day makes me shudder even today. My dear friends…… let me use this opportunity to tell you what exactly happened on this dreadful day. Do you remember any particular day in your life where everything goes wrong right from the moment you wake up till midnight? Well here is something of that sort that happened to me. It was a bright, sunny morning. A day like any other normal day.
As it was a Sunday, I had to prepare to go to school. Firstly, my sweet and ever-dependable alarm clock didn't ring at the expected time. I usually wake up at 11:00am and board my bus at 11:45am. Alas! Now the time was 12:10PM. I threw my ever-dependable alarm clock out of the window furiously and rushed to the toilet. To my great dismay, my tooth brush was missing. Finally, when I managed to get one, I discovered with great sadness that the time was 12:20am. As my classes start at 12:45pm, I knew for sure that I would be late if I stayed long in my house. I put on my clothes and rushed out my room, screaming aloud to my Dad to drop me at school. In the process, I had a bad fall down the stairs, which resulted in a broken tooth in my upper jaw.
I started my journey to school with great pain and difficulty. To make things worse my Dad's car had a breakdown and we were left staring at each other in the middle of the road. Finally, we managed to catch a taxi and reached school. Before entering the school, I checked my appearance in the driver's mirror. I looked all messed up with a shabby appearance, and a broken tooth to complete the picture. While entering my classroom, I knew that I had missed my English class. I could feel all eyes staring at me from top to bottom. After an hour or two, we busied ourselves in playing football. The game went on smoothly, except the fact that the captain dismissed me from the game for dreaming in the middle of the game.
In the afternoon, I boarded the bus back home, thinking of taking a good nap. While I was entering my apartment, a naughty boy blindly dashed his huge bicycle into me. That is all I remember of that day. The next morning, I woke up in the hospital bed with a broken arm and a stitch on my forehead. Now all I do is to pray everyday to God for a day that is not like June 24th, 2002 !!
