| Tessa
was a 6 year old girl. She lived in Elmy street
at number 3. She had no pet, not even a gold-fish.
She longed to have one but her mother didn't like
pets as much as Tessa did. One afternoon her teacher
asked her to bring a small insect like a lady-bird
or something for the big exhibition. The school
bell rang. Some children went home for lunch and
some stayed back. Tessa was very unhappy because
she could hardly find an insect in her garden. She
wanted to get something no one could ever get. The
next day was a holiday, she had the whole day to
search for an animal for her teacher. Before she
could leave the house her mother called her for
an errand "Please dear will you turn out the garage
for me" she said, "All right mum may be I'll find
something for the exhibition too'' she said cheerfully.
She skipped to the garage and opened the door. OH
GOD ! there was a heap of rubbish. It took her two
and half hours to clear it out. She was tired. When
she was about to close the door she heard a fluttering
noise. She opened the door again. She saw A BEAUTIFUL
BUTTERFLY trapped in a box. She was so happy, she
jumped with joy as she took the hurt butterfly to
her mother. |
| "Now
look at this", I've found a butterfly for my exhibition.
Her mother took the butterfly and put it in a box
with holes. Tessa couldn't wait for the next day.
She ate her dinner and went to sleep.She got up
for school, rushed herself to the bathroom, brushed
her teeth, took a bath and rushed down to have breakfast.
She took the butter fly to school. |

Her
heart was beating like a drum. She kept her box
on the table. Her teacher came and had a look.
And then announced whose would be chosen and GUESS
WHAT. It was TESSA'S. Her name went up on the
board. Everyone clapped. She went home and told
her parents about it. She knew, she had got her
reward for turning out the garage. Do you want
a pet . You never know what's going to happen
next!
